Bleed training for Teens

Give young people the confidence and practical skills to recognise life-threatening bleeding, act quickly and provide help until the emergency services arrive.

Leaving school brings new experiences and greater independence.

Young people may begin travelling alone, learning to drive, starting work, attending college or university, going to festivals and events, playing competitive sport and spending more time away from parents, teachers and other responsible adults.

We teach young people what to do if they find themselves faced with a serious injury – helping them develop the confidence to stay calm, call for help and take practical action.

These are skills we hope they will never need. But skills that could make a real difference if they do.

Why this workshop

As young people become more independent, they spend more time travelling, socialising, working, taking part in sport and navigating the world without adults always being nearby.

Serious injuries can happen in many different situations.

A road traffic collision, workplace accident, high-impact sporting injury, fall, broken glass or violent incident can all result in significant bleeding.

Knowing how to recognise life-threatening bleeding and what to do next can make a vital difference.

This workshop gives young people practical, potentially lifesaving skills in a way that is calm, responsible and empowering – not frightening or sensationalised.

Preparing young people for greater independence

We believe young people learn best when training is practical, relevant and engaging.

The workshop encourages participation, questions and hands-on learning without unnecessary medical terminology, graphic imagery or scare tactics.

Learners leave with a better understanding of life-threatening bleeding and, most importantly, greater confidence in their ability to respond.
