Q: Is First Aid at Work (FAW) mandatory?
A: First Aid at Work is required by law for certain workplaces under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations. The exact requirement depends on the size and risk level of your workplace. Low-risk workplaces may only need Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW), while higher-risk environments require the full FAW qualification.
Q: How long is a FAW certificate valid?
A: FAW certificates are valid for 3 years. After this period, refresher training is recommended to ensure skills and knowledge remain up to date.
Q: Can I upgrade from EFAW to FAW?
A: Yes. If you have previously completed EFAW, you can undertake the full FAW course to gain a higher-level qualification by completing the E-Learning or by booking additional training dates.
Q: Do you offer blended FAW training?
A: Yes. Our blended FAW courses allow you to complete the theory online at your convenience, followed by a one-day practical session with an instructor. This flexible approach helps reduce time away from work while ensuring full compliance.
Q: Can you train my team on-site?
A: Absolutely. We deliver FAW and EFAW training on-site at your workplace for groups of 6–24 staff. On-site courses can be delivered fully face-to-face or as a blended format (online theory + practical day)
Q: How many people can attend a course?
A: Our open courses in Manchester usually accommodate 6–12 delegates for optimal hands-on experience. On-site courses can be tailored to your team size (6–24 participants, 2 trainers may be required for larger groups).
Q: Can I mix staff from different departments in one course?
A: Yes. Our courses are designed for mixed groups, with practical scenarios suitable for all types of workplace staff.
Q: Do you provide certificates?
A: Yes. All participants receive an HSE-compliant certificate valid for 3 years upon successful completion of the course.
