Q: Who is the First Aid at Work Requalification (FAWR) course for?
A: The 2-day First Aid at Work Requalification course is designed for people who already hold a First Aid at Work (FAW) certificate and need to renew their training.
Q: How long is the FAWR course?
A: First Aid at Work Requalification (FAWR) requires a minimum of 12 training and assessment hours and is normally completed over 2 days.
Q: How long is an FAWR certificate valid for?
A: A First Aid at Work certificate is valid for 3 years. The HSE recommends that first aiders complete annual refresher training during this period to help maintain their skills and confidence.
Q: What happens if my FAW certificate has expired?
A: If your FAW certificate has expired, you are no longer considered competent to act as a workplace first aider. You may still be able to complete the 2-day FAW Requalification course; however, where a considerable period has passed since expiry, the full FAW may be more appropriate. Contact us, and we'll help you determine the appropriate training route.
Q: Do you offer blended FAWR training?
A: Yes. Our blended FAWR course combines online learning with instructor-led practical training. Learners complete the online element before attending their practical training, reducing classroom time while still developing and demonstrating the required first aid skills.
Q: Can you train my team on-site?
A: Yes. GO! First Aid delivers First Aid at Work Requalification training at workplaces across Greater Manchester. In-house courses are available for up to 12 learners per trainer, with two trainers available for larger groups of up to 24.
Q: Where do you provide FAWR training?
A: GO! First Aid provides First Aid at Work Requalification training across Manchester and Greater Manchester. We can deliver FAWR training at your workplace, or individuals and smaller teams can join one of our scheduled open courses at local Greater Manchester venues.
Q: How many people can attend an FAWR course?
A: Our in-house FAWR courses can accommodate up to 12 learners per trainer. For larger groups of up to 24, we can provide two trainers. Individuals and smaller groups can also book places on our scheduled open courses.
Q: Can staff from different departments attend the same course?
A: Yes. Staff from different departments can train together, with practical scenarios adapted to different workplace roles and environments.
Q: How is FAWR assessed?
A: Learners are assessed throughout the course through practical activities and assessments, alongside the required theory assessment.
Q: Do you provide certificates?
A: Yes. Learners who successfully complete the course and assessment receive a First Aid at Work certificate, valid for 3 years.
